Emerging Markets PE Raised $21.5 Billion in 2007 September 26th, 2007
- According to the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association, a total of 107 private equity funds focused on investing in emerging markets, and raised $21.5 billion in capital commitments in the first half of 2007. - Vantrix Corporation, a provider of mobile multimedia adaptation and delivery solutions, has secured $12 million in Series B financing. - Trutap recently received $6.5 million in a follow-on Series A funding led by Tudor Group, bringing total financing to $13 million. - Xangati, a provider of rapid problem identification appliances, has closed its Series B funding round, bringing total funding to date to $18 million. - Prolog Ventures announced that Dan Broderick has joined the firm as its fourth partner. - Financial Technology Investment Conference will take place at DB's downtown New York conference center on October 25th.

- Facebook 's backers have created an unusual $10 million fund to dole out grants to start-ups with ideas for innovative Facebook applications. - PlaySpan Inc., an in-game-commerce network, has secured $6.5 million in Series A funding. - QuickPlay Media, a mobile TV and video solutions provider, has completed a $15 million dollar Series C financing round led by Ventures West. - San Diego-based Nirvanix Inc. closed a $12 million equity financing round led by Mission Ventures and Valhalla Partners - Kennet Partners Limited, an international growth equity investor focused on the technology sector, has promoted Evan Frank to Director. - Dow Jones Clean Tech Summit 2007 will take place on November 7, 2007 at Steigen-berger Frankfurter Hof in Germany

They have closed a $22 million second round of financing. - PowerReviews secured $15 million in financing led by Lehman Brothers Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures and Draper Richards. - Summit Partners, announced the hiring of Musab S. - HubSpot secured $5 million in VC funding in a round led by General Catalyst. - CloudShield Technologies, a provider of IP services, has closed a $15 million financing round led by Tektro-nix, ComVentures, TPG Growth, and others. - Nascentric, a company focused on providing innovative Fast-SPICE simulation, has closed a $7.2 million Series C financing. - TAGSYS, a developer of item-level RFID infrastructure, announced it has closed $16 million of its $35 million Series C round of funding. - Scale Venture Partners announced that it has promoted Nancy Lynch to Principal. - Early Stage Venture Investing Conference will take place on October 11 at the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
