Anime Today from RightStuf.com: Episode 47

It’s August in Iowa and that means a few things: The corn’s now most likely taller than you, the folks at the Iowa State Fair are sculpting things out of butter and frying things to sell on sticks, AND otaku from all over the Midwest converge for one weekend to celebrate a common love for anime and manga. Emerging from our anime compound hidden in the fields of small town Iowa, Rich, Alison, Chad and Nick decided to trek on over Coralville last weekend for a fun and relaxing time at Anime Iowa 2007. For episode 47 of Anime Today, we’ll be sharing some of the quick interviews we managed to snag from cosplayers between photo opts and con guests between panels. Thanks to Geneon for the rockin’ music throughout this episode and Rich will clue you in to where it’s from at the end of the show. Starting things off is Chad with some great anime picks in his “What’s Hot” segment with an all new Uso Deshou mystery plot coming up next. Shawne’s beginning a new Magical Summer Savings sale on DVDs and CDs from Geneon and then listen to my first few interviews live from the Anime Iowa dealer’s hall. Kris and Judy discover ways to cool off from Japan’s summer heat in the latest Anime and Gamer’s Guide and then Nick returns with the Freedom contest winners and launch the new Galaxy Angel Rune contest. Our next few interviews from Anime Iowa are with two of this year’s featured guests, Jonathan Klein and Greg Ayres. Judy-sensei talks about the summer heat in the latest Mini-Japanese 101 lesson and then hear some of the new customer reviews from our online store. Rounding out this episode are the brief interviews Nick and Rich snagged from some of the terrific cosplayers as they wandered through the crowds and posed for photos by the beautiful lake fountain.
