Sound: Distance casting
27/05/2007
In this episode I talk about casting and casting distance - all ignited by the Danish championships in fly casting and a small lawn casting session with friends. And I try to control my dog on a large field of cows, which is not easy. A bit long this time, I admit, but I hope you forgive me...* Lamson/Waterworks ULA reel * Danish Casting Championships 2006 * Articles on casting on GFF * The measure tape doesn't lie * Jag's album Pretty Girl Blues - the great music used in this podcast

Sound: Skunked
25/03/2007
Last year this time I still hadn't caught my first fish on my beloved Danish coast. 19 trips without anything took its toll. This year is a bit better, but when this was recorded in February there was very little action, which - combined with the painful memories from last year - was the reason for the theme.* Nineteen skunked trips! * Jag - the musician behind the great music in this podcast * Improve your fly fishing
Sound: Winter fishing
25/02/2007
Fishing on the coast in the winter is very close to some obscure kind of self torture. There are only vague chances of catching anything, it's usually pretty uncomfortable and you would mostly be better off staying home tying flies. But I defied the elements and last year's experience with 19 (nineteen!) skunked trips in a row in January and February and went fishing in February anyway.* Winter on GFF * Don't freeze * Jag - the musician behind the great music in this podcast * Nineteen skunked trips!
Sound: Getting wet - or not

And trust me: you will fall if you haven't already. A bit of care and preparation in that regard will enable you to continue fishing in spite of having been partly submerged. I wasn't prepared this day, and because of this I wound up recording this podcast in my car. So I thought I might as well spend some time pondering about practicalities concerning dives taken in waders and jacket - like "zip your jacket", "tighten the cuffs", "keep your camera and cell phone somwhere dry", "bring dry clothes" and other things that come to mind... once you have been in...* Staying warm and dry - breathable waders * A jacket that works - but doesn't exist! * Jag - the musician behind the great music in this podcast
