The Round Table Season 5 Episode 1
31/07/2007
The Round Table starts fresh with a tweaked format and new energy. We start things off with a bang with a full-on discussion about those new-fangled rpgs that some people call story games. Introduction to Story Gaming Hosts Chris Miller (http://www.unquietdesperation.com/) Kris KJ Johnson (http://kjtoo.com/) Guests Mick Bradley - Our boss*, the Master of Misfit Monkeys. He's a podcaster (but you knew that), the proprietor of The House of the Harping Monkey, and is working on his first RPG for public consumption, Vegas After Midnight (http://vegasaftermidnight.net/). (*note: I am SO not anybody's boss, but thanks, guys. - M.B.) Rob Wakefield is one of the hosts of Accidental Survivors (http://accidentalsurvivors.libsyn.com/). Matt Snyder is a podcaster (The Score (http://www.chimera.info/)) as well as a game designer (Dust Devils (http://www.rpg.net/news+reviews/reviews/rev_7364.html)). Clyde L. Rhoer is the host of Theory From the Closet (http://theoryfromthecloset.com/), a podcast that focuses on gaming theory. The Sam Chupp wears many hats; he's a podcaster (The Bear's Grove (http://bearsgrove.com/)), an author (Heart of the Hunter (http://heartofthehunter.com/)) and a game designer (Changeling: The Dreaming and Wraith: The Oblivion) Chris ( Grog like dice! ) and KJ ( Where my character sheet at? ) don't know story games; their guests do. Can old dogs be taught new tricks?

The News: I want to let Monkey patrons know about a little behind-the scenes adjustment that is taking place that is designed to improve the quality - and hopefully the consistency - of episodes of the Round Table. Chris Miller and K.J. Johnson will officially be taking over editorial and producing duties on the Round Table. They will choose topics, schedule guest hosts, and bring a focus and direction to the show. In many ways they have already been doing this, but now it is official.
