Avant Garde Vacation
31/08/2007
Spending 5 days on the French Riviera with my family but without any source of music but only the sound of nature and sound of incomprehensible foreign language was pretty relaxing. In fact, that could be the sound of music. In a landscape, I could almost hear John Cage playing the piano. He who went beyond [...]
Do Things Go Wrong?
06/07/2007
Ever gone through a phase when everything seems to be wrong? You close your eyes and thought they are all wrong. In fact, you thought that there has been an external force out there, which is turning things around the wrong way to inflict punishments on you. All of a sudden, you are confused about what you feel; anger? sadness?pain? hatred? nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; You have got your dreams, desire, mind, body and love. Do you always yearn? I have heard once upon a time ago that it is important to build a positive and healthy relationship with all these elements in order for to be on the right track. People kill because of love that turned into hatred. People steal because of passion that turned into greed. People fall ill because of indulgence that turned into destruction. You shed tears but where will your tears take you to? Relationship, which is something in between us and other elements, is something we often neglect or it is almost non existent to us. nbsp;nbsp; Things don't get followed by bad luck. You make things go wrong or seem wrong without realising that you do. No one will call you a failure because you can always fix things. There is always a cure for the poison and pain. It heals once, it heals twice but after a few times, it dies. So think and fight for the right generation when there is no real war and all the tears start to dry on their own. Don't look back, just keep moving forward to see daddy's legs recovering for him to dance with mom in the light of joy, to see your sound of music tickling people's hearts and you and her happy no matter what. The Beatles On Abbey Road
06/06/2007
I happened to stumble upon Abbey Road Studio last Sunday while I was taking my weekend stroll around the neighbourhood. It puzzled me when I saw people taking pictures of these horrible graffiti but oh now i know why. I never realised that the studio is just 10 minutes away from my house! I have unintentionally and accidentallynbsp;made my way to Abbey Road all these years. As I walkednbsp;across the zebra stripes, I thought how many people or artists have been inspired by Thenbsp;Beatles. Therefore,nbsp;thatnbsp;was how this show came about. nbsp;The Playlist:nbsp;01 - HarpyListens - When I'm 64 feat.Beatles 02 - Tommy Emanuel - When I'm 64 03 - Amit Erez - Martha My Dear 04 - Belle And Sebastian - Here Comes The Sun 05 - Captain - A Day In The Life 06 - Yonder Mountain String Band - Dear Prudence 07 - Affinity - I Am The Walrus 08 - Junior Parker - Taxman 09 - Rogerio Duprat - Lady Madonna 10 - Shiino Ringo - Yer Blues 11 - Soundgarden - Come Together 12 - Rogue Wave - All You Need Is Love 13 - The Smithereens - This Boy 14 - Rufus Wainwright - Across The Universe 15 - Elliot Smith - Blackbird 16 - Puerto Muerto - With A Little Help From My Friends 17 - Mustafa Bhagat David Freeman - Norwegian Wood 18 -nbsp; Beatles Barkers - Paperback Writer 19 - Anothony Dowell with The ABC Television Orchestra Chorus - Eleanor Rigby nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;

A Tribute to the Electronic Pioneers
01/05/2007
nbsp;A tribute to the electronic pioneers in Europe The emergence of the technology and the music genre gives an applause to Leon Scott deMartinville (first recorded sound outlines onto cylinders coated with carbon), the famous Thomas A.Edison ( phonographh), Thaddeus Cahill (Telharmonium), Lee Deforest (Audion) and others. nbsp; This was led into a break through in classical music. They began to experiment with this new fascinating existence that expanded their horizons. Leon Theremin made his Etherphone, Luigi Russolo held his first 'art of noise' concenrt based on the Futurist Manifesto. Capturing the 'real world' sounds was possible by then; hence, the emergence of electroacoustics music or music concrete. Pierre Schaeffer began to manipulate sounds around him through recordings. People would go beyond the bounds of what was once defined as music with technology. Nevertheless classical music can never be forgotten. Therefore, it still leaves an influence in the new music genres. nbsp;The Playlist 01 - Slowbow - Frank's Theme 02 - Hauschka - Sweet Spring Come 03 - Hrvatski - Anaesthetise Thineself 04 - Static - Untitled 05 - Illi Villi - Eg Se I Hljodum 06 - Gluid - The Ashtray Is On Fire 07 - Filastine - Crescent Occupation 08 - Carousell - Untitled 09 - Sierpinski - Scrapbook 10 - Cut Chemist - The Lift 11 - Welter Quartet - Love 12 - Valvola - Planet Airport 13 - Clogs - Ostinato 14 - Mogwai - Acid Food
