Indirect Democracy #28 - Sept. 10, 2007

10/09/2007

Impeachment - "It is wrong, I suggest, it is a misreading of the Constitution for any member here to assert that for a member to vote for an article of impeachment means that that member must be convinced that the President should be removed from office." Those were the words of Congresswoman Barbara Jordan as she spoke regarding the Impeachment of President Richard Nixon. They are words that have changed my stance on impeachment and I invite you to listen to more of this speech to the House. Although this is a long episode of Indirect Democracy, I invite you to enjoy the music and produced pieces for this episode. Plus, there is a Global Warming Confession, the President's Love Horoscope and the What a Weinie Award. Thanks for listening.

Indirect Democracy #27 - May 17, 2007

18/05/2007

Michael Moore and Cuba - "For the firefighters and police officers who ran toward the fiery World Trade Center towers and breathed in the air on Sept. 11, the attacks are not just in their hearts or minds. For them, 9/11 is in their lungs, their blood." That was my favorite quote from an ABC article entitled, "9/11 Responders Gravely Ill." For all the controversy surrounding Michael Moore and his trip to Cuba, we have to remember that he also took 10 of our first responders from 9/11 to get treatment for their health problems. Despite your beliefs about Mr. Moore (good or bad), he is forcing us all to take a larger look at a healthcare system that leaves behind the people we claim to be Heroes. Listen to their stories and ask yourself what is the larger crime. The music from this podcast is "Freedom," by the DTs from their album, "Filthy Habits." You can find their music via their MySpace account at: www.myspace.com/thedts. A special Thank you again to Maria Halyna for her support of Indirect Democracy. Again, I just read your words - I am the grateful one. And to all the sites including Indy In-Tune that have promoted Indirect Democracy - a big Thank You, as well. You can also listen to the Global Warming Update, the Presidential Love Horoscope, a word from our newest sponsor and the "What a Weinie" Award. Thanks for listening.
