Study Tips: Do you know how to Study PROPERLY?
12/04/2007
It is quite fascinating that for all the years in school and universities, no one (not even teachers) teaches us HOW to study. They will just say, study your lessons, read those books, then do your assignments. But when asked how to study, they will often stop in their tracks, think, then shrug their shoulders.Often than not, we consult our peers in the higher years how to study. They offer almost the same advice. Read the books. for hours. Memorize details so you have ideas. Don't commit mistakes. 4 hours of sleep is normal. The same advice because that is what they learned from teachers or their parents. Are you like this? Read, sleep, wake, go to school. Is that studying? Is reading studying? The answer is No.I was in a forum where a board exam taker asks the very same question. How can she proceed studying? And what do you expect the answer of the elders and pillars that are now registered nurses? Read thy books. *sigh* I actually suggested to her how to study. But she obliged in doing the traditional thing. Read all the stuff. Read MI, Angina, and CHF only. Don't read Pericarditis, it won't be asked. The RN didn't only told her how to study, he even predicted the future. He is in fact, a nurse prophet or some sort. He even recommended books, particular books to study, he did not recomment saunders, lippincott, or mosby. As this books are international books and not for local board exam. I asked, is MI in the Philippines different from MI in the US or Canada? He didn't even bother to answer but proceded giving advice on how to proceed studying for the board. A lot of people are like that for one reason. They don't know how to study. It doesn't matter what book you read, but how you proceed studying. That one I gave you is the traditional type of learning used by naenderthals up to now. There is a new one strategy in studying that is scientifically proven that will improve your absorption of materials. But you need to learn how to study first. This is the first chapter of the series Study Tips where you can improve the way you study and get results. Don't just read the book. Reading is not studying. Burning Questions: How to Earn Money Online? Part 1
29/03/2007
After college graduation, I have kept repeating to myself on ways of earning money (without working). It kept me awake for two nights. I didn't give up. I persevered up to the point of exhaustion. Then the idea came, "How in the hell can I earn money online?" I told myself of the stinking 5000 pesos salary after I finished 4 years in college. I can't imagine that after studying, I will receive a meager sum for a start up job. I saw many who swallowed the bitter pill, ending up packing their "baon" to fill the holes left because the salary barely keep up in their fare. That gave me the inspiration to research more, to study more about earning money if you have a computer and an internet line. There are a lot of legitimate money making ventures online. There are even big organizations more like the stock market called the FOREX. That is if you know how to analyze fundamental and technical factors. If you know candlestick graphs and 3 or more indicators. If you know what is the meaning of bullish and bearish. If you know the meaning of PIPS. Then FOREX will be the sure way for you (just make a demo account first). But if you are just starting, like me, then you might consider earning online greenbacks by posting. That is what they call paid-to-post site. And the first on my list is discussed on my podcast. http://www.mylot.com/?ref=RNcorrupted http://ia340939.us.archive.org/2/items/BQ_earnmoneyonline1/bq_earnmoneyonline1.mp3
