Podcast 69: This is Podcast 69
29/09/2007
John, Colleen and Jason took a moment to recognize a milestone of sorts, because that's what gets us through the shift sometimes. It was a recovery week in the RC this time around, but burritos were enjoyed, visitors were served, and magazines were critiqued. There's no show next week because of Thanksgiving, so you'd better listen to this one twice. This week's show is a steaming heap of 24 minutes.

Podcast 68: TVP Meets GTK
22/09/2007
Today Jason and John were joined by a couple of guests: vegetarian cooking instructor, Jackie Liew and flutist, Ron Korb. This is a good thing for you the listener because they added 4 cups of FUN and 2 teaspoons of AWESOMENESS to the show. We had the privilege of talking with them about all of the endeavours related to Girl + The Kitchen including the cooking classes, the new menu at Peak Top Cuisine, and their work-in-progress cookbook.
We also discussed the current situation with City Grill. They responded to a letter we wrote, and have made their menu more vegetarian friendly (note: their online menu has not been updated yet). For all of you out there cheering for Team Veg, you may want to high-five somebody.
Today was a busy day in the Resource Centre for Jason and John especially considering that they were running on less sleep than usual due to last night's Food Fair volunteer party (another great reason to volunteer for Toronto Vegetarian Association). There were 13 guests, lots of email questions to reply to, and envelopes to stuff too.

Podcast 67: Raw(k) Paper Scissors
15/09/2007
John and Jason were your awesome hosts this time around, and wow, we had a lot of things to discuss after the Food Fair, many of which, amazingly enough weren't about the Food Fair (we are sick of that thing).
Is raw the next step after veganism? We don't think so, but there was a clear raw vibe in the Resource Centre (RC) today.
Of course, that might be because we've given up on trying to figure out when to boil and when to steam foods. For an idea of how clueless we can be and still be veg, you'll definitely want to listen to this show!
Last Wednesday brought on the first Cookie Challenge in the RC, and John survived to tell the tale. But for the winner – you'll have the wait until the November/December issue of Lifelines.

Podcast 66: Live from the Food Fair!
08/09/2007
As proof that if you dream about something enough, it can happen, John, Colleen and Jason recorded today's podcast live on stage at the 23rd Annual Vegetarian Food Fair.
In this show, we talk a bit about some of the products and speakers we saw at the fair and a bit of what else is coming up.
If you're a regular listener of the podcast, there might still be time to catch some of the great speakers, demonstrations, vendors and food tomorrow: the event is open Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
This week's show is 7 seconds shy from exactly 20 minutes. So close!

Podcast 65: 13 days and counting
25/08/2007
Today, John and Emily were All Food Fair All The Time. And, why not? After all, the Toronto Vegetarian Association’s Annual Vegetarian Food Fair is, bar none, the best weekend out of the entire year. BAR NONE. It deserves at least one entire podcast dedicated to it and all it’s glory.
You may be saying to yourself, “I have other things to do the weekend of September 7, 8, 9 – I can’t make it”. We are here to tell you “YOU HAVE NO OTHER PLANS”. Not when you can come and hang out with Sarah Kramer, Brendan Brazier, Gill Deacon, and Howard Dubrovsky.
There are so many special guests it’s overwhelming. (We challenge you to check out the special guests link and tell us that’s not a good looking bunch. You can’t. Apparently the mission of this year's Food Fair is to prove that vegetarians are all really beautiful. Mission accomplished, guys. Mission accomplished.)
There are also some updates on the vegetarian restaurant scene in Toronto. Happy Buddha and Boom Shiva have closed. Café 668 has moved to 885 Dundas St West. Three Peppers at 250 Dundas St West has opened along with three new Indian Restaurants.
{enclose 20070825.mp3} – The show is a just-long-enough 26 minutes.
