by The Zakat PagesThe illuminated City, Madina, under the noble Prophet, peace be upon him, and then under those who immediately succeeded him, is the true dynamic model on which any Islamic society must be based. This model has for centuries been brought to life in many differnt places and in many differnt times. These include the Mahgrib, Andalusia, West Africa, Topkapi and Nusantara. there is no doubt that with child abuse, usury, atheism drug use (legal and illegal) and the break-up of the family now rampant throughout society, the only hope is Islam. the strange truth is that if people (Muslim and non-Muslim) really understood the reality of the Islamic dawla we would unite to see it in place at the earlist opportunity.
